Jorn’s story

I had never heard of Arvato before, but from the moment I walked in the door I felt at home. The informal atmosphere was what really did it. 

As a co-ordinating IT service desk employee, I solve problems myself and I supervise my colleagues at the service desk. I do this in eight different locations; I work in Venlo one day and in Abcoude the next, and in between I drive to Maastricht, Heijen or one of our other locations.

It's our responsibility to make sure that all our users are able to do their work. When there are problems, we need to help them as quickly as possible. We solve 80% of all problems ourselves, from password resets to network problems. We pass the other 20% on to our colleagues with specific knowledge to solve.

As much as I enjoy the combination of co-ordinating, supervising, and solving problems myself, ideally I'd like to eventually become an IT infrastructure expert. Fortunately Arvato offers opportunities for career advancement, though obviously I'm the one who's responsible for the steps I want to take.

When you join one of our customer service teams, you will participate in a thorough training. Throughout your time at Arvato, we provide further training and personal coaching to help you improve your service to the clients. You can also count on the other team members. There is always a helping hand if needed. 

Great atmosphere

Having a lot of nice co-workers is a great benefit of working at Arvato. You will notice that the atmosphere is open and informal, which makes working with your colleagues even more agreeable. There is always someone willing to help you. Everyone knows what it is like to be 'new' and they know how to make you feel at home.
