The Test Engineer II helps contribute to and build out the suite of tests in order to ensure that Relias produces high quality solutions that deliver key insights.


  • Design, build, and execute manual test cases and plans
  • Perform Exploratory Testing
  • Design, build, and execute web and API automated test scripts
  • Provide feedback on others’ work by regularly reviewing test plans
  • Develop domain and technology knowledge, including testing methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices for software quality assurance (SQA)
  • Refine stories and contribute to building out the team’s backlog of work
  • Participate in team and department conversations and meetings


  • Extensive experience working in a hybrid manual / automation QA role.
  • Experience with various software testing methods such as End-to-End, Back-end, Blackbox, Whitebox, Negative testing, User Acceptance, Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, Smoke, Regression and Exploratory Testing
  • Championing SQA good practices throughout the entirety of the software development lifecycle across the organization
  • Provide leadership in defining appropriate testing methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices for both manual and automated testing processes
  • Experience working with test case and defect management systems
  • Has the ability to generate and execute test plans from test cases, technical design documentation, and requirements.
  • Provides reliable and accurate task estimates for assigned work
  • Assists in the review of technical documentation by working closing with their product development team
  • Functional knowledge of various Object-Oriented Programming languages like Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C++/C#, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience writing and executing SQL scripts for database validation
  • Experience testing reporting tools like Power BI, Sisense, or Tableau for data accuracy and functionality to defined requirements.
  • Experience testing REST APIs with tools such as PostMan, SuperTest, REST-Assured, etc.
  • Experience with version control of software projects
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD tools
  • Experience working with Azure DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse.
  • Effectively leverages existing automation frameworks and scripts new test cases for functional testing
  • Setting up and managing test environments and test data for test execution
  • Working with product development team to identify and capture test scenarios
  • Collaborating with end-users and the product development team to understand workflows and customer use cases
  • Contributing to a pro-active, self-motivating Scrum team, and effectively driving projects to completion.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate inside of a team, and with all external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks throughout the software development lifecycle
  • 5+ years of experience testing web-based client server software applications
  • 5+ years leading testing efforts in a Scrum team
  • 5+ years of experience with automated test case scripting and execution
  • 5+ years working in an Agile Framework
