The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the CEO, serves on the Management Group (MG), and is responsible for all financial aspects of the company including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting for operations around the world.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of high performance, a “team-first” approach, strong personal accountability for results, adherence to the highest ethical business practices, strong relationship-building and coaching skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a growth mentality.



  • Working closely with MG members to set strategic direction and priorities for the company.
  • Collaborating as required with MG members to enable the team to achieve desired business outcomes and to share information, observations and advice.
  • Exhibiting company values of getting things done, making data driven decisions, contributing to healthy debate, having a thirst for learning, and sharing a passion for the mission.
  • Providing leadership and direction for all aspects of financial operations including budgeting, financial reporting, revenue tracking, accounting, and acquisition evaluation and integration.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate internal spending controls and driving budgetary accountability at all stages of spending.
  • Overseeing the financial aspects of international finance.
  • Overseeing the legal and information security functions with responsibility for all legal, security and compliance matters of the company
  • Communicating and coordinating with Bertelsmann corporate headquarters in Germany.
  • Leading and managing accounting and finance teams motivating world class performance. 
  • Scaling systems and processes to facilitate growth.


  • BS Degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of senior-level finance or accounting positions that includes prior experience as a CFO for a software (SaaS preferred) company.
  • Experience scaling a high-growth company, ideally experiencing growth from $200m to $500m+.
  • Experience completing acquisitions ranging from $20m to $500m in enterprise value.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution competency
  • M&A acumen and financial modeling
  • A hands-on, detailed management style with strong teamwork skills and the ability to earn the trust and confidence of subordinates and coworkers. 
  • Strong coaching and development skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in international business operations.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.



  • MBA or Master’s degree 
  • Healthcare experience
