The Archive and Library team at Penguin Random House is dedicated to preserving and supporting the historical and cultural legacy of our company. As a Library Cataloguer, you will collaborate with your teammates to ensure our library collection is accessible and well-maintained. Your role will play a part by contributing to the functions of Penguin Random House and its stakeholders. Key responsibilities:
- Catalogue new incoming stock according to in-house style, using the Dewey Decimal Classification system
- Work with the Archive & Library team to ensure that the stock is shelved, stored and circulated as required
- Understand, and deliver, required Archive and Library processes and tasks, such as arranging deliveries
- Other related duties as requested by the Archive & Library Manager
What you’ll bring:
- Ability to prioritise tasks and solve routine problems
- Experience of working in a library, archive, information service or similar
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively within a small team
- Flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
- To be curious and to look for efficient ways to solve routine issues
Essential criteria:
- Good computer skills including the ability to maintain databases and records
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail

Salary
£22,877 per annum, plus bonus and benefits

Hybrid working
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. Due to the nature of this role, the postholder will be required to work on-site at our office in Rushden every day.
