Test Analyst


Have you got experience as Test Analyst conducting day to day test activities?

We’re looking for a Test Analyst to join the Technology team at Penguin Random House, based at our London and Frating office.

You will be responsible for conducting day to day test activities. You will report into the Test Manager and will support CoEs testing with within PRH.

You’re Knowledge, Skills that are required for this role 

  • Work closely with other Test Analysts and the Test Manager
  • Work closely with PRH’s CoE’s
  • Communicate with stakeholders
  • Work closely with third party suppliers
  • Create test plans
  • Plan and execute regression testing
  • Work in agile groups to ensure test activities are completed to a high quality standard
  • Mentoring and coaching others Agile practices
  • Mentor, train and support CoEs across all aspects of the test phase for any given project
  • Support and contribute to the setup of the quality testing framework across all test activity in alignment with the overall test strategy
  • Defect management
  • Support and contribute to the documentation and maintenance of the test strategy
  • Understand and analyse the end to end test process, making and implementing quality recommendations with support from the Test Manager
  • Prepare reporting and status updates on all assigned projects

You will be an integral member of the Service Delivery Test Change and Release Team supporting the on-going development of the department, its team members and identify continual improvement opportunities.

You will need:

  • Proven track record of large and small technical change testing
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of testing tools
  • Experience of infrastructure testing, ERP testing and middleware
  • Working with 3rd party vendors
  • Working in a Centre of Excellence model
  • Good Knowledge of / experience of working with Agile team environments
  • Experience extending agile principles to other teams
  • Working in a Centre of Excellence model
  • Experience in manual testing tools and techniques
  • Experience in testing tracking tools such as JIRA
  • ISEB/ISTQB qualifications
  • Knowledge and proven experience of regression testing
  • Experience of defect management and reporting

Nice to have skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of the Publishing industry
  • Experience of working in complex technology projects
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • Minimum of 7 years testing experience
