We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our Penguin Random House Children's team on a permanent basis, to create campaigns for two of publishing’s most loved children’s brands  - Puffin and Ladybird.

 

Puffin is home to some of UK’s most popular brands, authors and stories including Roald Dahl, Spot and Peter Rabbit as well as showcasing and supporting incredible new talents like Nathan Bryon, Hana Tooke, Tom Fletcher and Nadia Shireen. This role will have a particular focus – amongst others – on the multi-million copy global bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney.

 

Ladybird focuses on providing families with trusted ways to help build curious minds of the future. Our publishing looks at addressing key ‘need states’ in a family’s development to give carers and children the best start to family life. Ladybird is also the home of some of the world's most significant children’s brands as we engage trusted external partners for companion publishing on titles like Peppa Pig and Hey Duggee.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working across multiple projects.

 

On a day to day basis, you will:

 

  • Use audience insight to build creative, consumer-focused campaigns which consistently deliver growth
  • Be able to think independently and lead on your own projects
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and competitor activity
  • Work as part of the Marketing & PR team to support and collaborate where needed to deliver campaigns
  • Communicate effectively with the wider business including Editorial, PR, Sales, Design, Production etc to ensure the campaigns run smoothly and achieve results
  • Management of one direct report, supporting their campaigns and their personal development

 

You will be:

  • Consumer-focused, strategic, creative, commercial, adaptable, curious, open-minded, organised, a team player and excellent at multi-tasking
  • An effective decision maker who is proactive and reactive and able to work to deadlines  
  • Someone with strong analytical skills, able to use data to ensure your campaigns are targeted and engaging
  • Someone with excellent relationship management skills with both external and internal contacts
  • Someone with strong communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to juggle multiple projects whilst ensuring each meets the overarching goals
  • Experienced in creating strategic and effective marketing campaigns
  • Experienced in budget management
  • Experienced in children’s media would be a plus

Salary: Up to £41,500 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
