Marketing Manager, Ebury (Food & Lifestyle)

PRH UK

Are you passionate about reaching readers across the Food & Lifestyle genre? Does the sight of a cookbook filled with notes and spills bring a smile to your face? Do you love cooking with gadgets and care about sharing these methods with a commercial audience?

We're looking for a Marketing Manager who is excited about creating future bestsellers and reaching commercial practical cooking audiences. If you want to work on our Lifestyle titles and with some of the biggest names in Food, then this is the role for you.

About the Hubs

Ebury’s hub model blends editorial, publicity and marketing, and feeds on idea flow from every area of the team. It’s a thriving and ultra creative team and space.

In the Ebury Food Hub, our mission is to make life tastier and easier, to introduce more readers to new and established food voices, to shine a light on overlooked cuisines and expand culinary horizons. To make connections in the most joyful way possible: through cooking and eating. As the No.1 cookbook publisher in the UK, the list is simply unrivalled. From Mary Berry, Yotam Ottolenghi, Rick Stein to Suzanne Mulholland aka the Batch Lady, Hayley Dean, Jane’s Patisserie and the Bored of Lunch phenomenon, the depth of talent is exceptional.

In the Ebury Lifestyle Hub, our mission is to create beautiful solutions for everyday needs. You’ll be working with a broad range of authors whose work spans the lifestyle genre, covering home and garden, fashion, self-expression and giftable humour books; our authors including Charlie Mackesy, Stacey Solomon, Will Kirk and Johanna Basford.

The role

Reporting to the Campaigns Director, this role is responsible for planning and executing consumer campaigns for Ebury titles from the Food and Lifestyle hubs. These will be a combination of repeat authors and new titles, and you’ll be working closely with Editorial to build a comprehensive understanding of audiences in key territories.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing, coordinating and delivering successful marketing campaigns for both our frontlist and bestselling catalogue titles.
  • Creating and implementing digital strategy for campaigns, advising authors on digital portfolio management, brand growth and implementing plans for growth where appropriate.
  • Liaising with the Audiences & Digital team to run and optimise paid-for social campaigns, and to achieve targets for online audience growth via your campaigns.
  • Guiding authors on digital marketing including planning and problem-solving.
  • Identifying audiences, shaping pitches, planning media campaigns, and brokering partnerships.
  • Building the hubs’ network of influencers, media contacts and brands to make our campaigns as impactful as possible.
  • Coordinating with relevant divisional departments, including sales, editorial, and publicity.

What you’ll bring

Join us in this exciting role if you're passionate about food, cooking, and engaging with social media trends among mass consumer foodies, especially with gadgets like slow cookers or air fryers. You’ll also need a passion for lifestyle, including gardening, homes and interiors, and wellbeing. It’s also important to us that you’re interested in influencer marketing and working with online communities.

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrable successful marketing campaign experience (this doesn’t have to be from the publishing industry)
  • Project management and organisation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Demonstrable experience with stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Preferred criteria:

  • Influencer marketing experience and influencer relationships would be a bonus
  • Experience brokering new partnerships
