Marketing Director, Transworld

Are you a creative and strategic marketing professional ready for a major new opportunity at a leading commercial fiction and non-fiction book publisher?  

 

Transworld are looking for a talented marketing professional who will thrive in a fast-changing market guided by our new Managing Director. The Marketing Director is responsible for leading campaign strategy and execution as well as contributing to the overall strategy of the division as part of the Transworld Leadership Team. The Marketing Director ensures the marketing team develop targeted campaigns to generate the maximum possible consumer engagement as well as being accountable for performance and development of the team.   

 

This position has five direct reports, responsibility for a total team of 12.

The Opportunity and Candidate Profile 

 

Transworld has commenced a new chapter in its history with the inception of a new Managing Director this Spring. The successful candidate in this role will bring a track record of industry-leading marketing campaign work, strong leadership and management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise, together with excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.  

 

We are looking for a senior marketer with bags of creativity, as well as an audience-led focus, an analytical and inquisitive mindset as well as a deep love of books, and an obsession with the consumer discovery journey towards their next read. From a technical point of view we would expect some familiarity with Adobe suite, self-service advertising platforms and social-media and project management tools.

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Oversee budget strategy, resource allocation and successful delivery of marketing campaigns, combined with wider list prioritisation and broader resource direction. 

  • Lead and contribute to the publishing ambition and campaigns of our lead titles and authors. 

  • Evolve and communicate the divisional marketing strategy with internal stakeholders. 

  • Foster clear goals for the department and their reports, with effective and timely communication of team and divisional information and priorities. 

  • Contribute to new title acquisitions and author/agent pitch meetings and the subsequent external relationships around creative direction and strategy. 

  • Provide expert audience and market-led insight and feedback that influences both the creative design process and the acquisition and campaign strategy. 

  • Collaborate with Art, Publicity, and Editorial around title publication and launches. 

  • Maintaining close interactions with Sales to develop targeted retailer marketing strategies and campaigns which align to retailer and audience identification. 

  • Collaborates with PRH Brand ensuring effective utilisation of Group data insights and tools. 

  • Manages the recruitment processes, and responsible for delivery of Marketing diversity and inclusion plans.

For this role, there are regular meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person at our Embassy Gardens office.
