Marketing Analyst, Transworld (12-month FTC)

We are looking to appoint a Marketing Analyst (12-month FTC) to help ensure that Transworld is best in class in using data to drive our publishing and campaign performance. If you bring excellent communication skills, experience working with data and digital analytics, alongside a proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels, this could be the opportunity for you.

Transworld is one of seven adult publishing houses within Penguin Random House, with an annual turnover of £50-60m. Recent successes include two of the biggest-selling books of recent years - Spare by Prince Harry and Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Transworld has an unrivalled reputation for turning debuts into bestsellers whilst creating long term 'brand-name' authors such as Bill Bryson, Kate Atkinson, Paula Hawkins, Lee Child and Dan Brown. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  

  • Conduct analysis to support the marketing, editorial and sales teams to explore UK trends, search and sales patterns, and campaign metrics to inform the context for acquisitions/new business and to improve campaign effectiveness.   

  • Work closely with editorial, sales and the metadata specialists to increase the visibility and discoverability and finally the conversion to purchase for Transworld’s front and backlist titles in online platforms and marketplaces – principally Amazon – and to make our books enticing to everyone who comes across them.   

  • Use internal and external data sources, interrogate large datasets and draw out clear, concise insights and summarise through graphs and other data visualisation. 

  • Establish new uses of data and analysis in acquisitions/publishing and promotion strategy.  

  • Provide regular market and digital campaign updates to the wider business.   

 

What you’ll bring: 

 

  • Ability to analyse large datasets and draw from them key take-aways for other teams to act upon, with confidence and clarity.* 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.*  

  • Proven experience of Amazon analytics and wider digital advertising analytics.* 

  • Numerate, comfortable running quantitative data analysis and research activities.* 

  • Great attention to detail, able to consistently produce accurate work at a high standard.* 

  • Demonstrable interest in publishing and marketing.* 

  • Confident in presenting findings in a clear and compelling manner. 

  • Able to multitask, work to deadlines and manage stakeholders. 

  • Proactive and curious, a team player with a can-do attitude who shows initiative and enjoys a breadth of work. 

  • Keen to learn and able to absorb and assimilate a lot of information quickly and make connections between it.

Salary 

 

£31,500 - £38,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
