Key Account Manager, Non-Trade (Children's)

Are you passionate about children’s books and reaching new readers?

Can you take big brand names like Peppa Pig, Roald Dahl and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to even greater heights? How about taking gems in our catalogue and finding new places to sell them?

Our Children’s Non-Trade Sales team are hiring for a Key Account Manager. With our bold and ambitious plans, this is an exciting time to join the team and contribute your energy and vision to our group performance.

Our Non-Trade Sales team cover discount retailers like TK Maxx, The Works and Home Bargains to online and high street retailers like The Little White Company, Urban Outfitters, ASOS and subscription boxes, as well as commercial brand partnerships with clients ranging from McDonald’s to o2.

You’ll use your creativity and enthusiasm to take on the challenge of growing sales across the discount retail sector, managing accounts including ALDI and LIDL. Your focus will be on building strong customer relationships and growing revenue by pitching products that are tailored to their needs. You will have an interest in and clear understanding of the importance of this channel and be able to develop a strategy to drive sales.

You’ll take care of the complex sales mechanics and logistics as well as using your negotiation and pitching skills to strike deals and manage pricing.

You’ll collaborate with a range of colleagues internally– from editorial and design through to production, operations and finance. You’ll also share insights from the market, and analysis on sales with your teams internally.

To make a success of this role, you’ll need a solid commercial background in Sales or Retail and understand how to generate revenue. You’ll also have proven experience managing customer relationships and accounts, ideally within a retail or publishing environment.

You’ll show both creative flair and strong attention to detail – proactive with pitching the right content and ensuring it’s delivered on schedule.

Finally, it’s a busy role, so you’ll need to be organised and on top of things. To make the most of this highly commercial role, you’ll also need a good head for numbers, and an analytical mindset as you’ll regularly share product information with our wider sales team.

When you join the team, you will primarily be working remotely, eventually moving to work in our Embassy Gardens office in London.

If you’re up for the challenge, please apply with a CV and cover letter by Monday 21st June.
