Editor, BBC Books (6m contract)



BBC Books is the publishing home for the best ideas and talent from the BBC, with a list that covers almost area of non-fiction - cookery and lifestyle, history and science, biography and memoir, natural history and popular culture. Our authors include Mary Berry, Rick Stein, David Attenborough, Alex Horne, Jon Sopel, and Stacey Dooley, as well as brands like Doctor Who, Eat Well for Less, Match of the Day, and The Repair Shop.


We’re looking for an enthusiastic and confident editor to join our team and help make our next bestsellers a reality. Managing some of our most important books and brands, you would see a mix of illustrated and text-led titles through the critical path to publication, liaising with in-house teams, authors, agents, designers, photographers, television producers and executives across the BBC.


If you have editorial experience in illustrated publishing, a feel for quality design, and would like to make your mark in a dynamic and creative environment, we’d love to hear from you.


This is a 6 month maternity cover with an immediate start. Please apply with a CV and cover letter by 27th September; applications will be considered on a rolling basis. 


We are currently working remotely, with a view to transitioning back into the office over the next couple of months; interviews will be conducted via video call.
