We have an opportunity for a Contracts Assistant to join our Legal division and support with processing author advances, contracts and others e.g. translation rights contracts.


Reporting to the Contracts Manager you’ll keep the department running smoothly with general administration, and in time you’ll be given responsibility for drafting contracts too.


Your day-to-day responsibilities range from circulating reversion requests to relevant departments and data-entry on our Biblio IT system – to preparing monthly progress reports for our publishing divisions and ensuring all contracts, correspondence files, and databases are accurate.


You’ll also answer queries from internal Editorial and Royalties teams, and external authors and agents.


You don’t need to have set foot in a publishing house before – it’s your administrative experience, solid Microsoft Office skills, and strong attention to detail that we’re looking for.


Working with others will come easily to you, so you’ll be able to communicate with people at all levels of the business and handle sensitive conversations.


You’ll also be able to work independently under your own initiative, manage your time, and juggle multiple priorities.
