Can you bring your brand expertise and apply it to something new?

Penguin Random House Children’s division is looking for a strategic and innovative Brand Director to lead the marking and PR team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse range or brands from Ladybird and Puffin, to our consumer brands such as Peter Rabbit and The Snowman.

You will lead and help implement marketing and PR strategies across these brands to engage and retain customers – making them love and buy our books, brands and authors via digital and offline channels.

As a senior leader in the Children’s publishing house, you will be influencing the overall Children’s strategy, sharing your knowledge and insights. An inspiring and practical, open and supportive colleague, manager, and peer.

You don’t need to have worked in publishing before; in fact, we'll be interested if you didn’t. We’d love to hear what you have to say.

We’re looking for someone who can bring their outside expertise and apply it to the publishing world.  It’s about how you proactively engage in current market trends and innovation and what experience you could bring. This could be from anywhere from a creative agency to a big retailer or media company. The key is to be open to try something new and finding solutions to creative problems.

You will need proven experience of how global consumer brands are created, evolved and implemented – understanding brand purpose through audience insights – and strong experience of developing and implementing smart and creative global consumer brand strategies across both on and offline.

Ultimately, you should be both highly creative yet commercially aware. You love big ideas yet can be target-driven. You have a clear passion for design and visual identity, and how it is applied to consumer brands.

You will be an excellent strategist, setting a vision for our consumer strategy for the future, with a practical understanding and interest of process to ensure excellent delivery and success of the strategy.

With all these new ideas, and exciting plans, you’ll also need to be an expert at stakeholder management, being approachable and taking people with you on the journey.

You will also be an excellent inspiring leader, interested in developing talent, and good at managing, supporting, and inspiring a large team of marketing, publicity and social experts.

If this sounds like your ideal next role, please apply with a CV and covering letter by Friday 19th October.
