Product Manager - Warehouse and Distribution (Technology)

We have an exciting new role for a Product Manager to join our Technology Warehouse and Distribution Centre of Excellence.

After finalising our technology, data and process merger recently, Penguin Random House UK Technology are now moving forward with our technology strategy to further enable the organisation to bring amazing voices to all. This involves harnessing the power of Cloud solutions, a constantly evolving security stance, the rejuvenation of legacy applications and further improving the way we engage with and manage our strategic partners and suppliers.

As a Product Manager, you’ll have a wealth of experience in workflows and business processes that will support our Warehouse and Distribution systems. You’ll also bring your knowledge of managing and satisfying complex requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.

You’ll engage with stakeholders to understand current and future business drivers and requirements. This will inform your roadmap for a portfolio of applications. You’ll manage a small Business Analyst function, ensuring that business requirements are captured, prioritised and analysed.

You’ll be working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, building and developing deep relationships in order to inform, influence and drive strategic product development.

Cross system integration will feature significantly in your roadmap planning and implementation, as you support the process of development and optimisation. You’ll be comfortable fully engaging with significant initiatives involving system, process, and business change.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of product delivery backlogs with clear communication to stakeholders on status

  • Team management and an openness to develop and motivate a high performing analysis and specification team with clear and robust documentation strategies

  • Ensuring that requirements are clear and traceable through to the test phase.

  • Authoring and validating business, functional and technical requirements as well as specification documents

  • Working in an enterprise publishing environment with many users and multiple remote offices

  • Ensuring cross team working, knowledge share and pragmatic ownership of issues or challenges as they may arise

To succeed in this role, you’ll take on a collaborative and open approach in a ‘One Team’ environment, familiar with both waterfall and agile methodologies. We’re looking for a solutions-oriented Product Manager and in return you’ll be joining a welcoming and forward-thinking Technology community.
