As a key contributor to our music publishing operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely registration of our clients' musical works at collecting societies worldwide. Serving as the regional copyright authority, you will provide expert guidance on complex copyright matters while maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy and compliance. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize processes, ensuring the efficient flow of royalties and safeguarding the rights of our clients. Your expertise will play a critical role in enhancing the global reach and success of our publishing initiatives.

 

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Manage the onboarding process for local artists, ensuring accurate and timely registration of works for both local and global rights administration.
  • Supervise the accurate registration, tracking, and ongoing maintenance of BMG’s global catalogue specifically within the Brazilian territory.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and local copyright regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal databases to ensure seamless tracking of copyright information.
  • Streamline workflow processes to improve efficiency and accuracy across the copyright administration team.
  • Assist in the administration of mechanical licenses, ensuring proper licensing terms and compliance.
  • Address song disputes and counterclaims, working closely with legal and external stakeholders to achieve resolution.
  • Collaborate with Income Tracking Assurance, Royalties, and Creative departments, providing insights and data to support their respective operations.
  • Ensure smooth communication and workflow integration with other key teams.
  • Act as the regional copyright expert, offering guidance and solutions on complex copyright issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for local Performing Rights Organizations (PROs), managing relationships and ensuring alignment on rights administration.

 

Must Haves.

  • Strong service orientation and project management skills 

  • Comfortable with adjusting to evolving priorities and managing expectations of stakeholders at all levels of the organization 

  • Strong communication as well as team working skills and experience in working with international teams 

  • You are committed and have an eye for detail 

  • You like to work independently and reliably 

 

Nice To Haves.

  • Experience gained by working at a CMO, music publisher, or record label in an analytical or financial function 
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Python is a plus 
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) , Spanish is a plus
