Manager, Global Revenue Assurance

As part of our Revenue Assurance team at BMG, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to ensure that our artists, songwriters, and partners are paid fully, fairly, and on time. Our team plays a pivotal role in managing, tracking, and analyzing large volumes of revenue and usage data to support the fair distribution of royalties across various income streams. Working with cutting-edge technology and collaborating with multiple teams, you will contribute to upholding and enhancing the principles of accuracy, transparency, and efficiency, which are the foundation of everything we do. In this global role, you’ll have the chance to work with teams located across different regions, providing you with a broader perspective on the music industry, BMG as a whole, and diverse cultural approaches. The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil, and you will report directly to the VP Global of Revenue Assurance, ensuring you are part of a global team working in a truly international and collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Manage and analyze large volumes of income and usage data from various sources (e.g., streaming platforms, TV stations, etc.), ensuring accurate tracking of royalties.
- Identify discrepancies in income and usage data and work with relevant teams to resolve them promptly, ensuring royalties are correctly distributed.
- Collaborate with income sources, including labels, publishers, CMOs, TV stations, and streaming platforms to track and recover any unpaid royalties or income.
- Support cross-functional teams (A&R, Client Services, Royalties, etc.) and international teams to address income tracking issues and enhance revenue assurance processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes related to royalty collection, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Regularly report on income tracking performance, including KPIs, income recovery progress, discrepancies, and areas for improvement, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed on a regular basis.
- Help develop new tools and controls for tracking income streams, including supporting the implementation of new systems and technologies.
Must-Haves
- Knowledge of rights management in the music industry, with a particular focus on royalty management within the Brazilian music market.
- Previous experience in royalty accounting, revenue assurance, or income tracking processes within the music industry.
- Analytical skills with the ability to manage and analyze large volumes of income and usage data efficiently.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools) for reporting and analytics.
- Attention to detail without getting lost in the minutiae, with the ability to prioritize important tasks and ensure that time is spent on the most impactful activities.
- Experience developing new tools or improving existing tools, particularly for royalty tracking and income assurance.
- Familiarity with the latest trends in digital royalties and income tracking technology.
- Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment when needed, while also being a strong team player, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (A&R, Royalties, Finance, etc.) and international teams to resolve income-related issues.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, both spoken and written (Spanish is a plus).
