As Senior Director of A&R, your mission is to discover and develop exceptional musical talent, while fostering a creative and collaborative environment that empowers artists to express their unique voices and achieve their full potential. Your key responsibilities include guiding artists’ creative direction and maximizing their commercial success in the music industry. At BMG, we aim to curate a diverse and innovative roster that resonates with audiences and contributes to the evolution of the music industry as a whole.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Provide artistic guidance for artist development.
  • Scout and discover new and emerging talent in the music industry.
  • Efficiently manage projects from start to finish and meet required deadlines.
  • Manage budget for projects.  
  • Organize tasks and manage time effectively. 
  • Select appropriate songs for projects.
  • Maintain existing and cultivate new industry relationships in Nashville, LA, and other territories.
  • Demonstrate expertise in multiple music genres, including but not limited to: Country, Pop, & Rock.
  • Oversee the production process to ensure music aligns with the artist's vision and is of the highest quality.
  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.

 

 

Must Haves.

  • Deep understanding of and proven experience in the music industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Country genre, additional experience in Pop and Rock is appreciated.
  • Experienced in artist development.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage time, tasks, and projects.
  • Experience curating songs for artists.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management.
  • Demonstrated success in scouting and signing artists or groups.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Familiarity with using analytics for decision making.

 

 

Nice-to-Haves.

  • Recording studio knowledge.
  • Production & mixing experience.
  • Understanding of AI technology and its potential in the music industry.
