Your Mission at BMG

Your primary mission is entering publisher, license, and rate data in to BMG’s royalty system to facilitate quarterly payments to music publishers.  You will establish and foster relationships with major and independent music publishers and agencies such as CMRRA and HFA.  As a service provider to BMG’s labels, you will need to build a solid rapport with the staff at each label.


Your Profile

  • You have an interest in royalties, licensing, and music publishing,
  • You have familiarity with the licensing of physical and digital products and the associated rate calculations
  • You are comfortable working in a team and are a self-starter. 
  • Your time management skills allow you to meet deadlines easily and to reprioritize work regularly as needed. 
  • You have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set-up mechanical royalty data in royalty system all publishers – including creating and updating publisher shares, product rate changes, client details including address updates, corresponding artist information, tax and payment details, etc.
  • Collaborate with Licensing team to ensure smooth rate sheet workflow
  • Processing of Letter of Direction(s) and changes of ownership/administration.
  • Complete quarterly mechanical royalty analysis to ensure all accounts meet expectations.
  • Assist in answering and responding to audit inquiries and claims.
  • Managing all adjustments for rate changes with corresponding detail statements.
  • Completing and reviewing all quarterly mechanical payments and related financial processes.
  • Post-acquisition integration of mechanical licensing and royalty data
  • Answer mechanical queries regarding royalty statements, locating missing and arranging reissue payments, enrolling for ACH/direct deposit, generated statements in various formats, etc.
  • Logging all mechanical client inquiries into Atlassian JIRA client relation management (CRM) database.
  • Reviewing and addressing pending sales lines and unlicensed products in the system
  • Various Ad-hoc projects and reports as required



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Intermediate understanding of mechanical/copyright licensing.
  • Experience working with copyright and royalty software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Work, and Excel.
