Manager, Catalog Innovation & Development

Your primary mission as Manager Catalog, Innovation & development you’ll use data-driven insights to craft strategic campaigns that amplify our artists’ impact across all revenue streams. From creative storytelling to cutting-edge digital content and engagement initiatives, you’ll bring iconic music to new audiences in fresh and exciting ways. This fast-paced role calls for a highly organized, adaptable, and proactive professional who can juggle multiple projects and thrive under pressure. You’ll collaborate with a global network of marketers, content creators, streaming and sales experts, licensing and sync specialists, as well as artists, managers, and key industry partners. What You’ll Be Doing.

Repertoire, Product and Content Management 

  • Propose appropriate catalog product and content strategies including streaming, physical and digital concepts and repertoire campaigns for allocated roster to agreed deadlines and within budget. 

  • Initiate appropriate repertoire research and curation.  

  • implement digital consumption and optimization initiatives, liaising with the Streaming and Insights teams to ensure allocated repertoire is effectively presented.  

  • Identify and liaise with rightsholders, licensors, the Legal and Business Affairs team and in-house Licensing team to secure all necessary approvals and clearances where required. 

  • Submit creative briefings to the BMG Creative Content Studio (in-house creative team) or external creative agencies. 

  • Liaise with Supply Chain on digital and physical products, including repro and print matters. 

  • Proofread artwork and check audio. 

  • Liaise with the commercial teams (Digital Partnerships and Physical Sales) across digital and physical products and release campaigns. 

  • Manage and monitor all associated release administration including release information, key dates and timelines, activity reports, stock levels and terms. 

 

Campaign Management 

 

  • Propose and manage the agreed campaign strategy for designated artists, releases and digital initiatives. 

  • Liaise with Marketing, Content Creation, Synch and local territory teams to prepare and launch creative story-telling and promotional campaigns that touch global audiences comprising superfans to consumer in emerging markets.  

  • Liaise with external publicity and promotions companies to develop comprehensive media coverage. 

  • Propose and manage ideas for increasing audience reach for assigned artists, including the use of new, advanced creative technologies.  

  • Develop plans for increased marketing and sales focus in emerging markets, strongly driven by data analytics. 

  • Propose and manage ideas for increasing catalog consumption e.g., develop superfan service for direct-to-consumer (D2C) as well as retailer channels with collectible products and bundles, brand tie-ins etc. 

 

Business Management 

 

  • Data empowered catalog business management with a strong focus on global trends and catalog performance analysis. 

  • Monitor and review marketing, inception and licensing costs.  

  • Track product and campaign performance to targets including updating P&Ls. 

  • Provide effective, detailed, consistent and business-focused communication of targets and performance to appropriate colleagues and partners. 

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and/or finance-related contractual obligations or other regulations, seeking appropriate guidance or advice from Legal and Business Affairs, Finance or senior managers where necessary. 

  • Awareness of competitor releases and marketing activity and developments in the catalog, reissue and collectors’ markets. 

  • Keep up to date with trends and changes within the music, entertainment and creative industries: creative digital technology and products, opportunities in emerging markets, to apply knowledge appropriately. 

 

 

Must-Haves

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about popular music and catalog hits

  • Previous marketing experience within the music, fashion or sports industry. 

  • Dependable and able to prioritize and work to a deadline. 

  • Familiarity with both product and marketing management including digital (streaming) and physical record releases with the ability to market repertoire accordingly. 

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail. 

  • Organizational skills and ability to handle high volume, conflicting priorities.  

  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally with ease and discretion. 

  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality of high-profile projects and assets.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Dropbox/file sharing, streaming platforms,social media platforms photoshop and the internet.

Pay Range

$70,000 – 75,000 per annum

The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
