Manager, Audience Development (Catalog US & LATAM)

BMG's digitally-focused Marketing department is an award-winning global team who work at the forefront of artist campaigns, leading the charge with expert insight into social media, audience development, online advertising, CRM, global activations and innovation for marketing. They are interconnected with BMG’s advertising, technology, campaign, sales and analytics teams, and they also work closely with artists and tech partners.

 

In this role, your mission is to lead catalog projects for Audience Development with the US and LATAM catalog teams, looking after a wide range of rock, hip-hop, pop, and dance tracks and artists. You’ll be responsible for both engaging and monitoring communities via backend data and tech platforms on behalf of BMG’s artist. With a focus on continuous and seasonal campaigns, trend tracking, and activations, you will work within the US & LATAM Digital team across Catalog to help artists effectively showcase their story, character, and music in digital spaces and with their core, money-spending fanbases.

 

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Implementing the audience development strategy for a roster of artists, ensuring that all year-round online activity grows followers and engagement for social channels and streaming services and catalyzes streaming consumption.
  • Demonstrating a deep and sophisticated understanding of artist fanbases, demographics and new potential audiences for them.
  • Developing strategy for data capture and audience engagement across email databases and SMS, continually working to improve BMG's 1st party data offering and operating as a super-user for all current and future platforms and tools.
  • Pre-empting moments across the year that will impact artist exposure and consumption, collaborating with the wider BMG Marketing to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Using native and 3rd party insights tools to regularly compile and present insightful reports on activity, performance, growth and learnings to the label and artist management – working with the Marketing Insights & Analytics team as necessary.
  • Supporting BMG's Digital and Marketing teams throughout campaign cycles and working to uphold always-on marketing and long-tail consumption when these cycles come to an end.
  • Providing guidance to supporting management and wider BMG team by relaying best practice, social audits and content strategy suggestions for artists outside of core roster.
  • Acting as a point-person within the label for troubleshooting, questions and guidance regarding digital platforms and strategy.
  • Tracking trending topics on social media and creating engaging campaigns from BMG's catalog.
  • Reviewing channels for key label accounts, creating content and posting plans to keep catalog relevant.
  • Adapting and delivering alternative versions of BMG catalog tracks to provide greater coverage and increased consumption.

 

Must-Haves.

  • Proven experience in a digital marketing or social media role with a focus on media or entertainment.
  • Demonstrated insightful understanding of the current social media and digital landscape.
  • Conscientious, creative and analytical outlook with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to brainstorm and develop content, story-telling and marketing ideas through to execution.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced department.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • A commercially-focused and motivated outlook.
  • Experience in leading and managing CRM, marketing database, email and social media channels.
  • Familiarity of website CMS.
  • Passionate about music and media with a deep interest in the industry.

 

Nice-To-Haves.

  • Music Industry experience in Catalog specifically, with a strong passion for the history of rock, pop, hip hop, dance, etc.
  • Ability to manage social media coordinator and digital intern staff, when applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript development and constraints.

Pay Range

$66,560 - $72,000 per annum

The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
