Your Profile

Are you constantly on the lookout for new music?  Do you consume music at one or more of the digital streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple, etc.? Are you familiar with the ecosystem of YouTube and discover music through this platform? If yes, you sound like just the right fit as our YouTube Coordinator at BMG where you’ll help connect a roster of artists spanning multiple genres – pop, hip-hop, rock and country - with their fans online as well as be involved in the journey of releasing a record from start to finish. Our ideal candidate is passionate about music/streaming and experienced in the fast-paced world of YouTube.

 

Your Mission at BMG  

The YouTube Coordinator will report to the department VP of Digital Sales. As the department’s coordinator, you are knowledgeable on the top performing digital retailer platforms, actively supporting the team on day-to-day setup for our artists and eager to learn all aspects of the digital landscape as it correlates to music. You will specifically ensure the best YouTube set up for artists we work with, coordinating all aspects of channel optimization, playlist pitching and more. You have a general understanding of marketing, streaming, systems and timelines.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide direct support to the VP of Digital Sales and managing day-to-day digital streaming admin needs to best serve the department
  • Provide additional support to YouTube Manager with updating internal docs and needs
  • Responsible for artist channel optimization (best practices, etc.)
  • Weekly pitching to YouTube for playlist consideration
  • Work closely with Product Managers & Production team on claiming videos
  • General knowledge of key streaming/digital platforms
  • Gather marketing pitch information for weekly solicitation
  • Update internal marketing documents for new releases & priority tracks
  • Monitor playlist adds and daily streaming numbers for priority tracks
  • Liaise with BMG’s Distributor to gather retailer links  

 

Must-Haves

  • College degree (prior music digital marketing/sales experience a plus)
  • Digital native with a commercial and analytical mind: passionate YouTube and/or digital platform consumer with detailed knowledge about YouTube (e.g. content, channel management, analytics)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current digital trends and the willingness to learn more about the various areas of digital sales and streaming
  • Keen understanding of the artist’s voice and audience to best engage consumers
  • Passion for promoting music and connecting fans with their favorite (or soon-to-be favorite) artists
  • Attention to detail and excellent writing/editing skills
  • Organized and a natural multi-tasker
  • Ability to take initiative and work well in a team environment
  • Experience managing social communities
