Audience Development Manager

London

We are looking for an audience development manager to join our global digital team.The Audience Development Manager is responsible for both growing and engaging online audiences on behalf of BMG's artists. Working within the Global Digital team across Catalogue and New Recordings, this role helps artists to represent their story, character and, most importantly, their music in digital spaces via innovative digital campaigns, social media channels, short form video platforms, eCRM and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities.

 

  • Creating and implementing the audience development strategy for a roster of artists, ensuring that all year-round online activity grows followers for social channels and streaming services and catalyses streaming consumption
  • Work alongside artist management or digital representatives as required to develop an authentic tone of voice and presence
  • Hold a strong and sophisticated understanding of artist fanbases, demographics and new potential audiences for them
  • Developing strategy for data capture and audience engagement across email databases and SMS
  • Identify new platform opportunities, areas of development and potential partnerships that will elevate artists and expose them to new audiences
  • Respond to emerging online trends, commissioning and creating authentic digital-first content for artists that ensures continued growth and high engagement
  • Pre-empt moments across the year that will impact artist exposure and consumption, working with the wider BMG Marketing and Digital teams to capitalise on these opportunities
  • Use native and 3rd party insights tools to regularly compile and present insightful reports on activity, performance, growth and learnings to the label and artist management – working with the Marketing Insights & Analytics team as necessary.
  • Support BMG's Digital and Marketing teams throughout campaign cycles and work to uphold always-on marketing and long-tail consumption when these cycles come to an end
  • Support management and wider BMG team by relaying best practice, social audits and content strategy suggestions for artists outside of core roster
  • Act as a point-person within the label for troubleshooting, questions and guidance regarding digital platforms and strategy.
  • Managing the relationship between BMG and social partners such as Meta, Twitter and TikTok, working alongside Director - Digital Marketing to pitch for editorial placement and support
  • Uphold and grow BMG's network of social media agencies, ensuring that we continue to work with best-in-class companies at competitive price points
  • Continually work to improve BMG's 1st party data offering and operate as a super-user for all current and future platforms and tools
  • Operate BMG’s CRM systems, leading on implementation, best practice and guidance across both Catalogue and New Recordings rosters.

 

Your Profile.

  • At least three year’s worth experience in a digital marketing or social media role with a media or entertainment focus.
  • Previous Social Channel Management experience.
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth and insightful understanding of the current social media and digital landscape.
  • Conscientious, creative, and analytical with a ‘can-do’ and proactive approach.
  • Able to brainstorm and develop content, story-telling and marketing ideas through to execution.
  • Able to prioritise, multi-task and manage time efficiently in a very busy department.
  • Able to build effective and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Commercially focused and motivated.
  • Experience in leading and managing CRM, marketing database, email, social media channels.
  • Proficient in Adobe creative suite (specifically in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and more).
  • Comfortable in both graphic design and videography, with a basic grasp of animation.
  • Competent in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of WordPress CMS.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript development and constraints.
  • Strong interest in music and media.

 

It’s a plus if you also have…

  • Music industry experience - either Frontline or Catalogue.
  • Ability to manage social media coordinator and digital intern staff, when applicable.
  • Interest in music.
