Director (f/m/d) Global Finance Technology & Data

As part of the Global Finance, Controlling & Reporting team we provide and select technology for specialized use cases the space of finance. We foster our technological capabilities and knowledge to contribute to the success of the business. We want to have a solid technical foundation to enable forefront and modern controlling, forecasting and reporting. We help the Global Finance team to better understand the health of our business and guide the regions to meet their targets and provide valuable information to the global financial management. We provide a clear and easy way to access and read financial reporting. Our responsibility is to understand how key figures are calculated and approve their technical correctness. We deeply understand and are able to explain our own processes and their origins.

As a Director (f/m/d) of the Global Finance Technology & Data department, you'll lead key technology projects, focusing mainly on improving our forecasting tools. Working with teams across BMG and other Bertelsmann divisions, you'll have a crucial role in developing and implementing a data strategy that fits our finance needs. Your job will involve building out detailed data systems and processes to ensure we're getting the best insights, visualizations, and making the most of new technologies. Your main task will be to set up advanced forecasting tools in Pigment, helping us plan more effectively and stay ahead in our financial strategies.
 

Your Tasks

  • Forecasting and Prediction: Spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated forecasting models to elevate business planning and forecasting processes within the dynamic landscape of the music industry
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Lead the strategic planning, vision, and execution for our planning tool, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and the ever-evolving needs of the music industry. Develop a deep understanding of market trends to shape a product roadmap that delivers innovative, impactful solutions
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to bring the product vision to life. Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure the planning tool is developed and implemented effectively, meeting the high-quality standards and strategic goals of the organization
  • User-Centred Design and Development: Champion the needs of the users within the organization, translating complex business requirements into user-friendly product features. Prioritize the development of intuitive interfaces and powerful analytics capabilities that empower users to make data-driven decisions
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance the planning tool. Lead the evaluation and integration of new technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge and drive business growth

 

Your Profile

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, computer science, or a related field 
  • Additionally, a master's degree in business administration, finance, or information technology would be a plus 
  • Product Management Expertise: Proven ability in leading product development cycles, especially for planning and forecasting tools. Ability to translate complex business needs into product features and roadmap priorities
  • Technical Skills in Forecasting Tools: Hands-on experience with forecasting technologies and platforms like Pigment, SAP BPC, Anaplan, OneStream. You'll need to be adept at using these tools to develop advanced forecasting solutions
  • Strategic Planning and Financial Insight: Strong understanding of financial principles related to business planning and forecasting. Ability to align product features with financial objectives and outcomes
  • Data Analysis and BI Tools: Solid experience in data analysis and working with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) to create meaningful visualizations and insights that inform product decisions
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work across teams, including engineering, design, and finance, to ensure product development is aligned with user needs and business goals
  • Adaptability and Continuous Improvement: A commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and market trends to drive product innovation and maintain competitive edge
