Arvato is seeking an innovative and results-driven Transportation Carrier Manager & Solution Design Expert to join our Transportation Management team. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing, optimizing, and implementing transportation strategies and solutions that meet our clients’ needs while driving cost efficiencies and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of transportation systems, carrier management, supply chain management, and advanced modeling techniques.
YOUR TASKS
- Own the MBR cycle for assigned carriers, prepare performance reviews and propose corrective actions.
- Analyze transportation requirements and develop tailored solutions to address customer-specific challenges.
- Design end-to-end multimodal transportation models, including road, rail, air, and ocean freight.
- Optimize network designs, route planning, and load consolidation to enhance efficiency.
- Work closely with clients to understand their transportation and supply chain needs.
- Leverage transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other supply chain technologies to enhance solution design.
- Act as the primary point of contact for carrier communications, issue resolution, and performance discussions.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess carrier performance (e.g., on-time delivery, transit times, capacity utilization).
- Collaborate with carriers to secure adequate capacity for seasonal peaks, market fluctuations, and special projects.
- Any additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean, and goal-oriented work environment.
- Manage relationship with top 10 carriers, understand E2E their services portfolio and systems of connectivity.
YOUR PROFILE
- Able to perform at a fast-paced packaging environment.
- Perform accurately under stressful conditions.
- Performing variety of duties as required.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with carriers.
- Flexibility is a must: Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends, different shifts, and different areas of the warehouse.
- The ability to follow instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of TMS/SAP pertaining to warehouse activities.
- 6–9 years of experience in transportation management, carrier management, or a related logistics role.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple carriers and priorities simultaneously.
