Carbel, part of Arvato, is a full-service 3PL provider serving national and international clients across various industries, with a strong focus on fashion and retail. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations within the fulfillment center. This hands-on role involves coordinating and performing repairs, ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on schedule, and supporting operational goals through effective planning and leadership. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with internal teams to maintain a safe, functional, and clean facility environment and represents Arvato's values in all interactions.

YOUR TASKS

  • Lead by example, actively working with Maintenance Technicians on equipment and facility repairs.
  • Ensure all facility equipment (conveyors, MHE, lighting, etc.) is properly maintained and preventive maintenance is completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work assignments; prioritize tasks in alignment with operations goals.
  • Procure maintenance-related supplies using approved vendors, adhering to corporate purchasing guidelines.
  • Manage maintenance expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary targets.
  • Supervise and develop maintenance staff through performance management, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures (e.g., lock-out/tag-out.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Engineering, Security, IT) to support projects, reduce downtime, and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with senior site leadership in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Provide input on equipment upgrades and process improvements.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and working at heights up to 40 ft
  • Occasionally work in extreme temperatures and operate manual/electric material handling equipment.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, including mechanical and technical troubleshooting, installation, and repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage controls, PLCs, conveyors/sortation systems, and preventative/predictive maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex mechanical issues independently.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work and working at heights.
  • Certifications such as Journeyman/Master Electrician, CMRP, or CMRT preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS and building management systems.
  • Network troubleshooting skills a plus.
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships and supporting multi-departmental projects.
  • Industry experience in supply chain, fulfillment, or distribution centers.
