VP Corporate Counsel (f/m/d)

We are currently searching for a dynamic and motivated VP Corporate Counsel (f/m/d) to join our team in Berlin. As the ideal candidate, you will represent BMG in German industry affairs and serve as a strategic partner to the BMG Headquarters Corporate Team, providing legal support for international operations and ensuring tax compliance.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate with the General Counsel to provide commercial leadership and guidance on global business and legal affairs, supporting complex challenges such as international intercompany agreements and guidelines
• Work closely with various teams, including Headquarters Corporate Legal and Compliance, Finance, Tax, Rights Management, and Royalties Services, to offer legal, rights, and business affairs advice.
• Contribute to the innovation, development and implementation of legal processes and internal policies by collaborating with different departments
• Provide regular reports and updates to the General Counsel on significant legal and business affairs matters in Germany and the EU
• Act as BMG's representative in international organizations and societies, legal working groups and industry committees/events, as well as within the Bertelsmann network.
• Foster a culture of trust, empowerment, and constructive collaboration, and propose innovative approaches to support these values.

What you bring

• A German law qualification and extensive experience as a corporate lawyer in Germany, either in-house or in private practice, with a broad range of expertise in intellectual property (preferably within the music industry)
• Well-versed in critical areas such as corporate governance, asset acquisition, negotiations, rights management, and copyright
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Proven track record of successful cross functional team collaboration
• Highly organized and adept at meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced work environments
• Solutions oriented mindset and problem solver
