Post Production Associate (On Site)
Our Audio team is currently seeking a Post Production Associate to support the team in five key areas: Audio quality control and importing assets, project tracking, file management, technical support, and continuous improvement.
This a fully in-office position based in Woodland Hills, CA. Starting in July, this position will be based out of North Hollywood, CA.
Specific responsibilities include:
Audio Quality Control and Importing Assets:
- Performs quality control checks on audio files to ensure they meet technical, aesthetical, and metadata standards.
- Assists in the editing and mastering of audiobook recordings if needed.
- Identifies and corrects audio issues such as background noise, missing audio, additional audio, inconsistencies, erroneous chapter naming, peak and rms values outside the norms, and other anomalies.
- Ensures proper pacing, pronunciation, and overall audio quality.
- Imports audio and metadata assets to the internal archival/distribution system.
- Reformats backlist audio masters or finding resources to do so and manage the timelines.
Project Tracking:
- Coordinates with post production managers, producers, managing editorial, digital customer operations, and editorial teams for timely resolution of issues regarding masters which includes but not limited to late titles.
- Communicates effectively with QC and editing vendors for timely resolution of issues.
- Tracks a score of projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of final audio files to meet multiple deadlines.
- Coordinates backlist projects for reformatting and new intro/outro credit creation, utilizing internal and external resources.
- Uses Smartsheet.com for automated workflows and for tracking multiple projects at once.
File Management:
- Organizes, vets, stores, and imports audio files and project details.
- Observes and enforces PRHA specs accurately in regards to the file format, length, segmentation, directory structure, etc.
- Ensures proper file naming conventions and metadata compliance across audio, chapter metadata, and File Maker Pro database.
- Uploads audio masters and samples to the archive according to various timelines.
Technical Support:
- Provides metadata and technical supports to producers, post production managers, and QC and editing vendors during the post-production and archiving process.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to audio equipment and software.
- Assists with automation/data troubleshooting and escalation.
- Assists with various testing and data table population.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stays updated on industry trends and advancements in audio production technology.
- Suggests and implements improvements to the post-production workflow to enhance efficiency and quality.
Please apply if you meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production, Sound Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in audio post-production, preferably in the audiobook or publishing industry
- Proficiency in audio editing software such as Pro Tools, Audacity, or Adobe Audition
- Strong attention to detail and a keen ear for audio quality
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with audiobook production processes and standards is a plus
- Familiarity with automated workflows is a plus
- Familiarity with coding is a plus
- While infrequent, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines
The salary for this position is $56,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
