Associate Publicist, Quadrille (Hybrid)

Quadrille is seeking an Associate Publicist to join their North American team based in New York City. The Associate Publicist will work independently on titles, as well as have the opportunity to partner with senior staff on major author campaigns. This role will report to the Associate Director of Marketing based in North America but also be required to collaborate with the wider team based in London, and our distributors based in San Francisco.

With HQ based in London, UK, Quadrille is building out its North American team and this role is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in the US and Canadian market. This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days working from the Penguin Random House offices in Manhattan.  

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Develops campaign strategies and implements successful campaigns for a diverse list of titles. 
  • Produces and manages media relationships and builds/maintains publicity and contact lists.  
  • Secures national and regional media for frontlist and backlist titles, including television, radio, podcasts, print and online media. 
  • Plans and executes author tours, including local book events, media interviews, collaborations and travel logistics. 
  • Accompanies authors to local NYC-based interviews and bookselling events. 
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with producers, editors, book reviewers, event coordinators, and booksellers. 
  • Communicates and builds partnerships with authors and agents. 
  • Creates persuasive press materials, including press releases, pitch letters, media pitch lists, author Q&A’s, and story ideas. 
  • Sends out books to key journalists, influencers and booksellers.
  • Manages administration tasks including sales slides, send outs, campaign updates etc.  
  • Collaborates with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams on campaign execution.

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of publicity experience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize 
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker 
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs 
  • Creative, innovative and resourceful approach to campaigns and possess excellent knowledge of diverse media outlets 
  • Knowledge and passion about food and lifestyle is desirable 

 

The salary for this position is $56,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.   

 

This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
