Senior Editor - RHCB Licensed Publishing (Open to Remote)
Random House Children’s Books has an opportunity for a senior level editor to manage approximately 35 titles per year including board books, storybooks, leveled readers, chapter books, and activity books based on major licensed properties from Disney, Nickelodeon, Universal, Netflix, and many other licensors. Must be comfortable working on rush projects under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and editing a publishing list of approximately 35 titles per year
- Managing and/or mentoring junior staff members
- Brainstorming new book and series ideas with licensors
- Hiring authors
- Editing manuscripts
- Writing title information sheets and web copy
- Obtaining licensor approvals
- Collaborating with designers
- Reviewing all stages of book development
- Presenting individual titles and book series at Sales Conferences
This is a remote-eligible position open to candidates residing within the United States, with core work hours primarily aligned with Eastern Time Zone.
Requirements:
- 5 years or more of children’s editorial experience
- Interest in and enthusiasm for licensed book publishing
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
The salary range for this position is $81,500 – 83,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
