Security Analyst (Open to Remote)

We are looking for Security Analyst to join our team. The Security Analyst will require strong technical and interpersonal skills to effectively analyze information systems, research and validate alerts, and operate security tools for monitoring the environment. In this hands-on role, the candidate will assist in developing and deploying solutions as a part of the Security Operations team. This individual will be required to coordinate with members of other internal IT teams, service vendors, and stakeholder groups to ensure the efficient, timely delivery of security recommendations and incident response.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare threat models for security and recommend mitigations
  • Analyze security threats, vulnerability assessments, and audit results to recommend security solutions that enable business objectives
  • Assist in incident response to global cybersecurity events
  • Execute playbooks and implement appropriate mitigations using a suite of next-generation tools
  • Monitor and investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
  • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Stay current on IT security trends and news
  • Assist in developing company-wide best practices for IT security
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management
  • Provide feedback and recommended improvements to our processes and technologies

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any industry licenses or certifications is qualifying (Security+, GCIA, GSOC, GCDA, GCIH)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of IT security operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices for information security
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently monitor, analyze, and triage security events
  • Basic understanding and familiarity of operating systems, such as Windows, OS X, and Linux
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, such as TCP/IP and the OSI 7-layer model

The salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
