SAP ABAP Developer - ECC 6.0 (Open to Remote)
Are you a hands-on SAP ABAP developer with strong ECC 6.0 experience? Penguin Random House is looking for a Software Engineer to join our in-house technology team and contribute to the systems powering the publishing industry’s most beloved books and authors.
In this role, you’ll work closely with functional and technical colleagues to build and maintain SAP ABAP solutions across key modules within ECC 6.0. This is a great opportunity for someone with approximately 5 years of experience who is looking to grow their impact while continuing to code in a collaborative, supportive environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain ABAP solutions in SAP ECC 6.0
- Support key business modules including AR, AP, SD, FI, and MM
- Collaborate with functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient enhancements and customizations
- Work with SAP Forms (SAPScript/Smart Forms), ALV reporting, IDOC processing, function modules, RFCs, BAPIs, and web services
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has ~5 years of recent, hands-on SAP ABAP development experience (this is a must)
- Has deep working knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0, including the modules listed above
- Is a software engineer first, with a strong focus on coding—not a consultant or analyst
- Is a team player and strong communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Has exposure to S/4HANA (a plus, but not required)
This Role Is Not a Fit If You:
- Haven’t worked with SAP ECC in the last 4–5 years or ever
- Primarily work in advisory, consulting, or functional analyst roles
- Only have experience with S/4HANA and not ECC 6.0
- Are not actively developing in ABAP
