Marketing Manager, Consumer and Educator Shows – Random House Children's Books

 

The Random House Children’s Book’s Marketing Department seeks a Marketing Manager to join their team to drive priorities and presence at key consumer shows and educator conferences. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, but the role also provides an opportunity to interface with the entire marketing organization as well as Publicity, Sales, Editorial and Art.    

 

Responsibilities include:

·        Creating and maintaining the master shows calendar

·        Confirming and communicating key dates and deadlines to the core marketing and pr staff

·        Staffing and schedules for each show

·        Managing all show-related material including booth furniture, light boxes, as well as booking advertising, and researching and confirming entertainment needs

·        Managing and maintaining the shows budget with quarterly reforecasts for SVP

·        Manage weekly meeting with key marketing and pr staff; agenda, action items, follow-up

·        Attend key consumer shows and be main “on the ground” point person for the division

·        Create and disseminate post-mortems including key learnings and adjustments for upcoming shows  

·        Research, evaluate and propose new show opportunities and present back to the team

Requirements/Qualifications:

·        At least 3-5 years of experience in consumer show management

·        Excellent writing and communication skills as well as being detail-oriented and organized

·        Self-motivated with a desire to be a team player as well as work independently

·        Highly organized with an ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and meet deadlines

·        Strong sense of urgency with an ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and ability to think on their feed and address unexpected challenges

·        Creative thinker who enjoys thinking outside of the box  

·        Knowledge of and interest in marketing and the overall children’s publishing industry
