Marketing Designer, Advertising and Promotions, Crown Publishing Group (Hybrid)
Advertising and Promotions at Crown Publishing Group seeks a Designer to join our dynamic team of designers, copywriters, and a project manager. This position requires strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects in an intense and fast-paced environment. The Designer will manage simultaneous motion graphic projects that need a quick turn and produce digital content to support marketing efforts across web, social, and email platforms. This individual will be savvy in producing great print, motion, and promotional designs. This Designer will be an active team member who creates and executes customized campaigns across our list.

Reporting to the Director, the ideal candidate will be a creative, collaborative, and enthusiastic designer with interest in working with nonfiction & fiction titles to join our team. We work in collaboration with marketing teams to promote books across a diverse range of genres including fiction, nonfiction, business, cooking, graphic novels, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects that reach a global audience.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day work will include working closely with the Marketers to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departments, maintaining a positive attitude in a highly deadline driven environment
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ask clarifying questions throughout the marketing design process create effective work
- Manage projects with the Project Manager through Workfront, our project management/design request software, and correspond on project threads as needed
- Traffic creative: preparing and releasing files to stakeholders, and sending projects to print
- Partner with the Creative Services team to remain current on art, design, and publishing trends offering new ideas on aesthetics and working styles into our department’s creative ecosystem to help keep our output relevant and timely

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a staff designer in advertising preferred, trade publishing marketing design experience is a plus, but not required for success in the role
- A passion for design and strong typography skills—as demonstrated by your portfolio
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Products. Working knowledge in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Premier — and the interest and ability to learn new systems and applications as needed
- Experience with preparing files for press
- Proficient time- management and project- management skills : Timely follow-up skills with the marketing teams and other stakeholders, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced, details-focused, and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, across email, direct messaging, and in meetings
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team when needed
- A goal-oriented team player who can cultivate productive working relationships
- Proficiency in creative problem solving, decision making, and time management
- Proficiency using social media platforms as a marketing tool
- Nice to have: animation and video editing skills a plus
The salary for this position is $66,500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
