The Riverhead, Viking, Penguin Books, and Penguin Classics imprints at Penguin Random House are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join their innovative team! The Marketing Coordinator will assist in marketing efforts for their assigned titles, including executing online promotions, creating and assessing paid and organic social media campaigns, and recording key campaign details. The ideal candidate loves books, possesses strong attention to detail, is excellent with time management, and has miscellaneous interests, including but not limited to, the ability to communicate in emoji’s and GIFs.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with distinguished authors such as Ken Follett, Tana French, Daniel Pink, Keri Smith, and Meg Wolitzer, on a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction hardcover and paperback titles.

 

Specifically, the Marketing Coordinator:

  1. Assists in creating and executing marketing plans for assigned titles on Viking, Riverhead, and Penguin lists, which includes development of campaigns, timelines, content, visuals, and giveaway opportunities.
  2. Instructs and assists authors with the creation and enhancement of social media platforms and websites.
  3. Contributes to posting and strategy on imprint social media accounts, coordinates and implements social media advertising, and provides real-time analysis, insights and reports.
  4. Tracks and records sales performance for key titles and authors.
  5. Maintains record keeping on specific campaigns, company and industry trends and practices.
  6. Coordinates necessary materials for sales and liaises with other internal departments.

  • Minimum of 2 years of prior industry experience required; publishing or marketing experience preferred
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and keep track of deadlines
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc)
  • Genuine interest in industry marketing trends and best practices  
  • Experience with online and social media campaigns, including SEO is preferred
  • Online advertising experience including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google Plus is preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, online marketing tools, and digital analytics is a plus
