The Berkley imprint at Penguin Random House is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the VP, Associate Publisher, Director of Marketing and Deputy Director, Marketing. The Marketing Assistant will provide administrative support and assist with the creation of marketing and sales materials and advertising campaigns for a diverse array of commercial fiction, including romance, women’s fiction, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers and more. This is an ideal position for someone who is looking to begin a career in publishing!


Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Providing extensive administrative support to the VP, Associate Publisher, Director including maintaining production grids and schedules, coordinating meetings, processing invoices, note-taking, circulating materials for approval, content gathering, and sending out mailings.
  2. Helping to create promotional pieces and other sales and marketing materials as needed.
  3. Communicating extensively with other internal departments such as managing editorial, publicity, and editorial teams.
  4. Assisting with title marketing with Deputy Director, marketing.
  5. Maintaining systems data seasonally which includes MyHouse, TI’s, galley spreadsheets, NetGalley, Edelweiss, and Goodreads.
  6. Coordinating seasonal promotions including reading group guides, email nominations, and social media content.

  • Prior office experience
  • Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle tasks, from multiple points of contact
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience working in various social media platforms
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop a plus
