Marketing Assistant, Out of Print (Hybrid)

Out of Print seek a highly organized, meticulous, and pro-active Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position requires a strong interest in marketing and book publishing along with the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Marketing Assistant will report directly to the Director of Marketing (Out of Print) and support the marketing team in executing traditional and digital marketing campaigns.
Out of Print’s mission is to celebrate the joy of reading by creating high-quality, stylish apparel and accessories. Designed with readers in mind, our products feature iconic book-related artwork and literary references to delight book lovers of all ages. Our shirts, totes, socks, and accessories allow readers to wear their favorite stories and share their love of reading with the world.
The Marketing Assistant will manage the administrative needs for campaign coordination, marketing calendars, and social media promotion. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual capable of applying their core skills in organization, multitasking, proactive problem solving, data analysis, and communication to the position of Marketing Assistant. We are looking for an efficient, creative candidate to join our dynamic team and bring a fresh perspective while collaborating on tasks such as writing copy for product descriptions, content calendar creation, and new ideas for social media campaigns.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assist in marketing campaign planning, brainstorming creative promotions, and competitive research
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and record meeting minutes
- Maintain the shared content calendar for social media, newsletters, and campaigns
- Support social media initiatives, including influencer outreach, mailings, and engagement management
- Help with brand outreach for social media giveaways, mailings, and collaborations
- Prepare promotional materials (digital and print) for publicity outreach, sales, and marketing initiatives
- Track and analyze metrics for digital marketing campaigns and social media activity
- Assist with reports to monitor sales and other metrics associated with marketing promotions
- Contribute to web copy for product listings and overall online optimization

- Interest in book publishing, publicity, and marketing is essential
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with multiple social media platforms and management tools
- Prior marketing or publicity experience through coursework, part-time work, or internships is preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Canva, and other design platforms is a plus
The salary for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
