Manager, Production Operations

Penguin Random House’s Production Operations department is a corporate division that supports all aspects of print production including but not limited to reprints, paper procurement, marketing production, vendor management, contract negotiations, production planning and PDF workflow and color management support.


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and manage various ongoing projects and activities within Penguin Random House’s Production Operations Department


Specific Duties:


  • Coordinate all inflight projects and keep them on track
  • Create, analyze and reconcile weekly/monthly operation performance reports
  • Create project timelines and milestone dates to track and report on progress
  • Work with suppliers to develop tracking and performance reports
  • Prepare agendas and schedule meetings
  • Record and follow up on action items from meetings




  • 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the publishing industry, but not required
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
