Executive Assistant, Crown Publisher's Office (Hybrid)

The Crown Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, seeks an experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support for three senior executives in the division’s Publishers’ office in mid-town Manhattan, New York. 

  

Specific responsibilities:   

  • Provide administrative support related to  the day-to day functions of three executives, including managing schedules and calendars, coordinating meetings, scheduling occasional travel 
  • Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting 
  • Assist with preparation of presentations; conduct market research 
  • Work across departments, including editorial, subsidiary rights, sales marketing, production, and Ad/Promo, on the creation and tracking of seasonal materials 
  • Assist with internal and external meeting coordination, and the preparation of materials for meetings 
  • Organize seasonal meetings, attend weekly editorial meetings and take minutes 
  • Track submissions and acquisitions, awards, donations, and project expenses 
  • Proactively identify and address any administrative or logistical needs to ensure smooth operations within the team

  • 1 - 3 years previous administrative experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team, as well as being self-motivated and able to work autonomously 
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion 
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required along with experience working with databases 
  • Willingness to work in-person in midtown Manhattan a minimum of 4 days per week 
  • Interest in book publishing and media a plus 

 

The PRH office is located in New York, NY. This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence four days per week at 1745 Broadway. 

 

The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $80,000. Candidates with transferable administrative skills and less experience providing senior-level administrative support will be eligible for a salary of $65,000 – $74,000. Candidates with proven experience managing complex, competing priorities, as well as at least five years of experience in a highly visible executive support role, will be eligible for a salary of $75,000 – $80,000. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
