Director, Financial Analysis (Hybrid)
Penguin Random House is seeking a highly skilled, curious, and motivated Director of Financial Analysis to support the Vice President, Worldwide Reporting & Planning. This role will be instrumental in assisting with international reporting, consolidation, and analysis, as well as collaborating with colleagues across 11 territories and 20 countries, and the Bertelsmann corporate center.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of international financial reports and consolidation of data from various territories.
- Conducts strategic analysis to support decision-making processes and long-term planning.
- Collaborates with international colleagues to gather and analyze financial data.
- Provides insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance.
- Supports the VP in preparing presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Assists in the development and implementation of financial models and forecasts.
- Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators and financial metrics.
- Ensures compliance with corporate reporting standards and guidelines.
- Analyzes working capital management, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
- Provides recommendations to improve working capital efficiency and optimize cash flow.

This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities, we will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA) preferred
- At least 7 years of proven experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, audit, or a related field
- International finance experience required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with international teams
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
- Knowledge of Power BI is required
- Knowledge of SAP as a user is required
- Experience in the publishing industry is a plus, but not required
- Fluency in German and/or Spanish is a plus
- Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements is a plus
The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
