Desktop Support Analyst

Penguin Random House is the leading publisher globally and is on a mission to ignite a universal passion for reading by creating books for everyone. The End User Computing group within the Information Technology department is seeking an Analyst, Client Services to join their team.

 

This role will entail providing by both on-premises and remote support to our employees by assisting with computing-related problems: Windows operating systems, mobile devices, M365, in-house developed applications, network connectivity, printing, and accessibility to shared network and cloud resources.

 

Support responsibilities also include performing PC upgrades/replacements, equipment moves, and hardware installations. The Analyst must provide exceptional customer service and have a strong understanding of the Windows operating system.

 

There are many elements to being an Analyst, but you will mainly be responsible for:

  • Assisting employees in achieving business goals by keeping their computer and related applications and tools functioning smoothly
  • Troubleshooting reported problems, both hardware and software, as and when they arise, while simultaneously looking for trends and inconsistencies
  • Updating the IT Service Desk call tracking system and maintaining information flow with both the IT Service Desk and peers
  • Providing first line support for audio/video conference rooms, including conducting room maintenance and providing meeting support
  • Onboarding new hires, including the setup of equipment and offboarding users as needed
  • Resolving technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN) and home Wi-Fi networks

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of supportive work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience
  • Ability to and experience with how to install and troubleshoot Windows 10 OS (or better where appropriate)
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate high level knowledge of remote computing technologies and mobile computing devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and Androids
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be professional, collaborative, and enjoy working in a team environment
