Creative Services Administrator - Random House Children's Books

Random House Children’s Books is looking for a Creative Services Administrator to handle daily departmental tasks and act as a point person for communication with various internal and external stakeholders to keep a busy art department on track.

 

Specifically, the Administrator will:

  • Assist Executive Creative Director, and design department in a wide range of operational and administrative tasks such as coordinating schedules and meetings, processing invoices and contracts, tracking budgets, shipping packages, ordering supplies and other duties as assigned.
  • Develop new and maintain existing systems that support and track the creative work and art department needs.
  • Trouble-shoot and make recommendations for improvements in process and protocol.
  • Acts as liaison between design department and Random House Children’s Books managing editors, sales, marketing, sub rights and freelancers.
  • Maintain a wide range of information for all incoming and outgoing materials for both in-house and out-of-house freelance designers, artists and photographers.

 

Requirements:

  • 0-1 year publishing, creative studio, media, or advertising experience
  • Proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Webex and InDesign with working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Box and Filemaker Pro
  • High comfort level with digital tools for organization and to facilitate process
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to gather and assimilate information from different sources
