Compliance & Hardware and Software Asset Manager, IT, Penguin Random House (Open to Remote)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hardware and Software Asset Manager (License Compliance Manager) to join our team.
Penguin Random House (PRH), the world’s largest trade book publisher, is seeking a Compliance & Hardware and Software Asset Manager to join our IT team as our CMDB Administrator for Service Now and work closely with the larger IT team while partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders.

The Compliance & Hardware and Software Asset Manager will be responsible for managing hardware and software assets, ensuring license compliance, and supporting the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which requires experience and a strong understanding of hardware and software asset management, licensing, and IT service management processes.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Manage and maintain hardware and software assets and licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and organizational policies.
- Develop and implement hardware and software asset management strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of hardware and software assets and licenses to identify and resolve compliance issues.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, and IT teams to manage hardware and software acquisition, contracts, renewals, and disposals.
- Maintain and update the CMDB to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on hardware and software assets.
- Support the integration of hardware and software asset management processes with the CMDB and other IT service management tools.
- Generate reports and metrics on hardware and software asset management activities and compliance status.
Please apply if you meet the following qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow is a plus, but a minimum two years’ experience working with in the administration of a CMDB is needed for success in this role
- Proven experience in software asset management, license compliance, and CMDB support
- Strong knowledge of software licensing models, vendor agreements, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and CMDB tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSAM, ITIL) are a plus
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
