Art Assistant

We are looking for an Assistant to support the Senior Manager of the adult art department in the processing of book cover reprints. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in learning about the inner-workings of a fast-paced art department in a large publishing house!


Specifically, the Art Assistant:


  1. Processes reprint corrections including changes to mechanical files
  2. Preps files for production using the Adobe Creative Suite
  3. Fields and responds to internal requests for cover/jacket printout and files
  4. Coordinates uploading of corrected front covers to internal database
  5. Provides administrative support to Senior Manager as needed


Please apply if you meet the following requirements:


  • Working knowledge of Mac platform
  • Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro)
  • Familiarity with graphic design and typography
  • Print production and PDF workflow knowledge, including color separations
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous related internship preferred
