Sales Manager - Christian Market Sales - (Hybrid)

Reporting to the VP of Christian Market Sales (CMS), the Sales Manager will be responsible for selling PRH core and select client titles, managing promotions with retailers, churches, and ministries.  In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to manage relationships with multiple customers to seek and act on sales opportunities in the Christian marketplace.   This position provides many opportunities to interact with different areas of PRH, including publishers, marketing and publicity managers, operations, and customer service. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Prepares, researches, and presents all relevant new titles, appropriate backlist titles, and special promotions to accounts. 
  • Optimizes all initial, front list and backlist opportunities through in-store and on-line promotions. 
  • Represents PRH core and client imprints in a professional, sales-oriented manner clearly demonstrating an understanding of the Christian market and accounts. 
  • Attends regular meetings including, but not limited to, imprint launch, strategy, and sales conference. 
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with Sales Management, Publishing and other departments as appropriate regarding account activities and sales trends. 
  • Performing detailed sales analysis including tracking sales, forecasting demand, and defining opportunities. 
  • Working to manage and substantially grow the backlist through backlist analysis and developing backlist programs. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with existing and potential customers and develop new markets for our books. 

 

Requirements:  

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of bookselling or publishing sales experience, including directly interacting with accounts in the Christian market 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing marketplace 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% by car, train, or plane within the domestic U.S.  
  • Experience with SAP is a plus 

 

The salary range for this position is $73,500-83,500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
