New Business Development Lead, PUNCH 

 

PUNCH is looking for a passionate, drinks-loving individual to help grow our brand partnerships business. We are looking for someone who is organized, can juggle multiple projects at once, has strong people skills and will thrive in a self-starting environment. This person will be both editorially- and business-minded, with the ability to think big about a client’s goals while staying true to the PUNCH editorial brand and aesthetic.

 

This freelance contract position will lead advertising sales and client prospecting for our fast-growing partnerships business, as well as manage media plans and agency relationships. You will work closely with our Partnerships Lead, Editor-in-Chief and Director of Audience Development to generate and sell creative, on-brand campaign ideas. 

 

Digital campaigns, which include editorial, social promotion, email and display are at the heart of our partnerships program, but our offerings also include products (ranging from custom books to games), live activations, and creative services.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Meeting partnerships sales goals. 
  • Handling outreach, proposals, meetings, follow-up and hand off of sold campaigns to Director of Partnerships and Partnerships Manager. 
  • Building media plans and pre-close deliverables from client or media agency. 
  • Managing display ad inventory and implementation. 
  • Developing creative sell sheets and standardized deal offerings at different budget levels. 
  • Maintaining and building relationships with media agencies, brands, and PR agencies. 

 

 Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years professional experience selling in the beverage or media industry and have a proven record of exceeding sales goals
  • Are organized and self-starting
  • Have great people skills and love working with clients
  • Are familiar with and a fan of the PUNCH brand

 

This is a part-time freelance position; you will not be an employee of Penguin Random House.  Compensation includes a regular monthly fee plus commission.
