We have an exciting opportunity available for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Penguin Random House Distribution Centre in Scoresby VIC*.

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the processing and production of accurate and timely accounting information in accordance with regulatory requirements, AGAAP and IFRS accounting standards, company policies, procedures and organisational requirements.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in completion of all month end processes and tasks in accordance with the month end checklist and reporting timeframes
  • Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet through tasks including completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assist in completion of all budgeting and forecasting tasks in accordance with reporting timeframes
  • Assist in author royalty payments processing and accurate recording of rights income
  • Prepare monthly invoices and other charges for third party clients accurately calculated and in accordance with each relevant contracts and responding to queries
  • Maintain fixed asset register by ensuring all property, plant and equipment transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis in the subsidiary fixed asset register and general ledger

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and be CPA/CA qualified or near completion
  • 5+ year’s relevant experience in accounting/finance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team oriented and customer service focus
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of finance ERP systems and G/L module integration
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
