We are looking for an enthusiastic Publicist to join our Children's Campaigns team based in North Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a truly creative and collaborative environment at one of Australia's most dynamic publishers.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and manage innovative publicity campaigns for a range of Australian and international children's authors.
- Identify angles and strategies to effectively promote and publicise books and authors across all media platforms
- Use a broad range of communication including press releases, pitching, and content marketing.
- Being able to communicate, with ease, to a range of stakeholders including internal departments, authors, agents, event organisers, media, educators and international colleagues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with authors
- Organise and manage author events and school visits with key partners, individually and as part of wider tour strategies.
- Set up a variety of interviews and address ad hoc requests for a range of Penguin Random House titles across the local and international lists.
- Represent Penguin Random House at varying events, including meetings, and presentations.
You are:
- A creative and clear thinker with exceptional organisational skills, an ability to multitask and react quickly to opportunities.
- Able to manage multiple projects at one time and have a proven ability to facilitate strong relationships across a range of stakeholders.
- Able to identify a range of media angles applicable to a variety of mediums.
- Passionate about books and reading, with a strong understanding of national and regional print, broadcast, and online media.
- Interested in new and emerging Australian media.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
