Job Summary:
This role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in business development, client relationship management and the management of post-production teams. The SLS Director of Sales and Ops is responsible for driving the growth of the company's post production services, identifying market opportunities and building long-term partnerships with new and existing clients. The Director of Sales and Ops is also responsible for the smooth operation of the post facility, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest creative and technical standards for a wide range of major international streamers, broadcasters and producers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Client Acquisition:
- Develop and implement sales strategy to drive new business for the company's post-production services.
- Identify and pursue potential clients in the TV, film, advertising and corporate sectors.
- Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to closing, achieving sales targets and revenue growth goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Business Development & Networking:
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network, build relationships, and generate leads for potential clients.
- Negotiate client contracts, pricing structures, and service level agreements.
- Oversee the creation of promotional materials, case studies, and content showcasing the company’s post-production capabilities.
- Manage the company's online presence, including the website, social media platforms, and industry forums, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients.
- Work closely with production and post-production teams to ensure client expectations are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Regularly communicate with clients to gather feedback and ensure long-term satisfaction, identifying opportunities for repeat business and referrals.
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of post-production professionals, ensuring efficient workflows and collaboration across departments.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and daily operations.
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Project Oversight:
- Manage multiple post-production projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks in post-production timelines, adjusting strategies as necessary to guarantee on-time delivery.
Operational Efficiency:
- Create and manage post-production budgets, track expenses and process payments.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors.
- Maintain the smooth running of the facility.
Technology and Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest post-production tools, software, and technologies, implementing new solutions as needed to improve workflows and capabilities.
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of post-production infrastructure, including suites, software licenses, and storage solutions.
- Ensure proper data management and security protocols are followed, safeguarding project assets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in post-production, with a minimum of 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects across a range of content formats (TV, film, digital, etc.).
- Working knowledge of post-production systems and pipelines, including editing, colour grading, audio mixing, MGFX/CGI/VFX, mastering, QC and deliverables.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-cultural teams and foster a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to build client relationships and close deals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of post-production budgeting, resource management, and scheduling.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with international teams.
- Strong network within the media and entertainment industries.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in virtual production, AI-driven post production tools, and cloud-based post-production workflows.
- Experience with content delivery for streaming platforms and knowledge of platform-specific technical requirements.
