Publishing Assistant - DK +

At DK+, we create high-quality, fun, and exciting books for pop culture fans of all ages. We’re on the lookout for a friendly and proactive Publishing Assistant to join our talented design and editorial team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be at the heart of our division, learning the ins and outs of how a successful publishing company runs while contributing to the day to day operations of the team.

 

As our Publishing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping things running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diary management for the Managing Director and Publisher, organising meetings with licensors and internal colleagues, particularly around book fairs and industry events.
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring that resulting action points are clearly noted and allocated.
  • Entering titles into licensor databases and liaising with the sales, production, marketing, and creative teams to respond to regular licensor requests for information.
  • Organising monthly book orders and handling other regular administrative tasks.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for DK+ for all general queries and requests.

 

We’re looking for a great communicator who is highly organised and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You should be a motivated self-starter who can adapt quickly to shifting priorities. You will be skilled at managing tasks efficiently and prioritising workloads, maintaining a positive outlook under pressure, and taking the initiative to lead projects from start to finish.

 

This role will suit you if you’re eager to learn about the publishing industry and develop in your role. Experience with systems like B3 or Asana is a bonus but not essential. Proven experience working in an office environment as a PA or assistant is also desirable.

In line with DK’s hybrid working approach, this role is currently office-based for a minimum of three days a week, with flexibility to work remotely for part of the week.

Salary: £27,500, plus bonus and benefits
