What we’re looking for

We are seeking a Venture Capital Investment Associate (m/f/d) for our team in Berlin, who will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, as well as supporting portfolio companies to maximize their growth potential. The role requires strong analytical and modeling skills, financial acumen and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your tasks

• Sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities
• Conducting due diligence, assessing market potential, technical strength, financial viability and team dynamics through comprehensive research and analysis
• Creating financial models, reviewing business plans and evaluating financial performance (key metrics, growth drivers, capital needs)
• Drafting presentations, deal memoranda and other documents for internal and external stakeholders
• Manage the teams’ day-to-day processes including investments, portfolio monitoring and reporting as well as constantly improving our operations
• Building a network, attend relevant events and conferences and represent Bertelsmann Investments
   

Your profile

• Medical or Life Science Degree, ideally along with business experience or a business degree
• A genuine passion for technology, startups and entrepreneurship
• 1-3 years of experience in fast-paced environment in IB, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Consulting or Start-up
• Strong quantitative capabilities and analytical skills, strong financial modeling skills and willingness for deep analysis
• An international and multicultural mindset, good communication skills and a strong existing founder network are a plus. The predominant language in our team is English
